My Story

Shane Lawson is a footwear designer from Hot Springs, Arkansas. His passion for shoe design started when he was 8 years old. 

After receiving his certificate in Pattern Making and Garment Construction from Fashion Careers International in 2008. Then moved back home and worked in retail the next few years. In April of 2011 landed a job at Lake Catherine Footwear, where they manufactured MUNRO SHOES. He started skiving leather tongues, a few months later he became a work mover-taking cut materials and guiding them through every step of the factory until the upper was complete then packing them to ship.

A few years later he moved back to Los Angeles.

He found work as a production assistant, working on commercials for the next 4 years. During that time he was contacting factories in China via Alibaba to develop his LINWOOD sneakers.

After one year of development he had his 1st sample complete.

He used his credit card for a production run of 60 pairs.

Once those landed the real lessons of difficulty arose.

Having the production run truly taught him the value of having a business plan!  WHEW!

After receiving 2nd production run a year later of a new design and having it be a disaster.  His mindset shifted as he learn the value of being able to oversee a product as it is developed/manufactured.

January 2018 I landed a job at NO ONE LA, a high end sneaker manufacturer in Venice, Ca.

This job inspired him to make the  LINWOOD shoe himself . So now the LINWOOD is handmade by him!  It made on a per order basis!!!
